Don't just check your weight, find out everything. The Innerscan can tell you how much of you is water, fat, bone, muscle and so on. The scales work by sending a tiny electric pulse (don't worry, you can't feel it) through your feet (you have to be barefoot) and works everything out from there. It tells you whether you're in a healthy range and has a mode for athletes too. If you don't want to know all this, you can just measure your weight. (Posted on 30/07/2010)

Good enough to leave on display in your bathroom, a hi-tech set of scales will tell you far more than just your weight. The latest Tanita model, all silver-coloured and glass, measures total body water percentage, muscle mass, abdominal fat level, metabolic rate and gives you a 'physique rating'. Not only does this tell you everything you need to know about the make-up of your body - it looks stunning as well! I have just started a 'health regime' with the help of a free program called fatmanslim.com and this BCM gives me all the information I need and more.
