H Fereday & Sons Queen Traditional Kitchen Scales with Stainless Steel Pan - Black

The ‘Queen’ scales echo with times past and have a reassuringly weighty and reliable feel. These scales embody H Fereday’s craftsmanship they are constructed in cast metal and beautifully finished with steel pivots and bearings. The timeless design allows the beam to swing freely up and down with almost perpetual smooth motion (and none of the sticking that you see from ‘cheaper’ imitations).

Guaranteed to satisfy the committed home cook and enhance any kitchen with their elegant looks. These scales are the ‘real deal’, their authenticity portrayed by the classic style which has remained the same since the first Queen scale was engineered at Fereday’s works and used by five generations of home cooks (mums, nans and grandmothers) to produce countless flapjack mixes, biscuits, birthday cakes and roast turkey stuffing.

The Queen scale has a large, flush stainless steel pan that is both hygienic and won’t tarnish. The precise weighing mechanism enables the accurate weighing of light ingredients such as yeast, herbs and spices down to 5 g / 1/4 oz.

These scales have a Lifetime Guarantee and are even used by Delia Smith on TV!

Well designed, functional, aesthetically pleasing... built for a lifetime of use. Review by The Telegraph

The Weylux Queen scales are the sort of weighing scales you can imagine your grandmother using: balancing scales, with a pan in brass on one side and a rather cute selection of weights in cast iron and brass ready for action on the other. The weights also, usefully, come in imperial and metric measurements, so these scales can be used just as readily for weighing out ingredients for Mrs Beeton recipes as for one of Jamie Oliver's. David Fereday describes his family scales as 'well designed, functional, aesthetically pleasing... built for a lifetime of use'. And he is right. (Posted on 30/07/2010)
