The Weylux Queen scales are the sort of weighing scales you can imagine your grandmother using: balancing scales, with a pan in brass on one side and a rather cute selection of weights in cast iron and brass ready for action on the other. The weights also, usefully, come in imperial and metric measurements, so these scales can be used just as readily for weighing out ingredients for Mrs Beeton recipes as for one of Jamie Oliver's. David Fereday describes his family scales as 'well designed, functional, aesthetically pleasing... built for a lifetime of use'. And he is right. (Posted on 30/07/2010)
